The following lines were written by a lady upon General
Amherst's leading his troops from Boston, after the conquest
of Louisbourg, to join our army that had been repelled at
Ticonderoga.
  Methinks I see Britannia's genius  here,
  Who smiles to find her guardian sons your care,
  Whilst ev'ry heart with indignation glows,
  Warm'd with the sense of injur'd Britain's woes.
